Grapes

I came across this quote in My Utmost For His Highest yesterday and loved it.

"God's purpose is not simply to make us beautiful, plump grapes,
but to make us grapes so that He may squeeze the sweetness out of us" (Oswald Chambers).

After I mused over this quote for a while I thought, "Wow. The life of a Christ-follower is a strange thing. I'm actually happy, no...delighted! to have the sweetness squeezed out of me!" No wonder the world thinks we're crazy. But I never seem to hear anyone complain when they're the ones who get to taste the sweetness of the Holy Spirit being poured from me onto them. Hmmm....
